“Thanks to the tourism and service sector, in 2018 and 2019, Antalya was among the provinces that contributed the most to Turkey’s economy besides Istanbul and Ankara. Our city became the second province after Istanbul, which contributed positively to the national economy in 2018, and the third after Istanbul and Ankara in 2019. Antalya is the 6th province in terms of gross product. The city became the 5th province after Istanbul, Kocaeli, Ankara, and Tekirdag with a per capita income of ₺60,632 in 2019. As tourism grows, we see that Antalya increased its share in Turkey’s economy. As tourism grows, the city’s contribution to the country’s economy also increases.”
Cetin stated that he believed that the city would regain rapid growth after the epidemic.
Emphasizing that the economy of Antalya has the power to bring much more support to the country’s economy, Cetin stated that with this belief, they are making intensive efforts to reduce the loss of the sectors and provide more support to the Antalya economy.
