Turkiye: Export and import unit value indices rose in July

The export unit value index increased by 6.2% in July compared to the same month of the previous year, and the import unit value index increased by 27%.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the foreign trade indices for the month of July.

Accordingly, the export unit value index increased by 6.2% in July compared to the same month of the previous year. While the index decreased by 6.6% in food, beverages and tobacco compared to the same month of the previous year, the index increased by 12.9% in raw materials (excluding fuel), 76.0% in fuels and 4.2% in the manufacturing industry (excluding food, beverages and tobacco).

Export quantity index increased by 6.8% in July compared to the same month of the previous year. Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index increased by 22.3% in food, beverages and tobacco, 14.2% in raw materials (excluding fuel), 52.7% in fuels and 1.4 %in the manufacturing industry (excluding food, beverages, tobacco).

The Import unit value index increased by 27.0%

The import unit value index increased by 27.0% in July compared to the same month of the previous year. Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index increased by 23.8% in food, beverages and tobacco, 13.3% in raw materials (excluding fuel), 131.1% in fuels and 4.1% in the manufacturing industry (excluding food, beverages, tobacco).

Import quantity index increased by 11.3% in July compared to the same month of the previous year. Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index increased by 53.4% in food, beverages and tobacco and by 18.4% in the manufacturing industry (excluding food, beverages and tobacco). The index decreased by 11.8% in raw materials (excluding fuel) and 15.3% in fuels.

The terms of foreign trade were realized as 76.6

The terms of trade, which was calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index and which was obtained as 91.6 in July 2021, decreased by 15 points to 76.6 in July 2022.
