Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank attended the groundbreaking ceremony of KontrolMatik Teknoloji Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery Factory in Ankara’s Polatli district.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Varank said, “We are working to make our country a global base capable of producing critical technologies. This pioneering investment by KontrolMatik in the field of battery technologies and energy storage systems is an important initiative that will strengthen this vision. The value of this investment will become clearer when evaluated together with the electric vehicle and consumer electronics sectors.”
Varank said that the value of this investment will become clearer when evaluated with the electric vehicle and consumer electronics sectors. “Internal combustion engine technology is now history. Batteries are one of the most fundamental components of electric vehicles that will replace them. A large part of the cost of these vehicles is due to batteries. Energy storage systems are a critical element not only for the vehicles themselves, but also for the charging infrastructure.”
