The future of the banking sector in Turkey was discussed at the “Digital Banking Panel”

While discussing the future of the sector at the ‘Digital Banking Panel’ moderated by A Para News Manager Serdar Kuter, held within the scope of the SUMMIT, it was pointed out that the game would be re-established in the sector. Noting that companies that use data well will come to the fore in the coming period, Halkbank Information Technologies Deputy General Manager Olcay Atlioglu said, “Very important developments await us in 2022. The banking sector will go through a very important game change with the opening of the open banking proposal, which will enable only digital banks to operate.”

Vakifbank Deputy General Manager Ferkan Merdan noted that open banking and platform banking are on their agenda. Merdan continued as follows: “We also follow the legislation closely on the digital banking side. We aim to run on the same sector with new competitors with these regulations by making fine adjustments to ourselves here as well.” Gurhan Cam, Group Manager of DenizBank Digital Generation Banking and Deniz Aquarium Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center and General Manager of NEOHUB, pointed out that the sector did not panic during the pandemic, and stated that the Turkish banking sector was an inspiration to the world. Regarding the change in the coming years, Cam said, “An approach like I will close the branch completely doesn’t seem right to me, but digital spoilage, being able to make transactions without waiting in line quickly turns into a habit. We can see joint branches like shared ATMs in the new period.”
