Getir acquires British express delivery app Weezy

Continuing its growth by expanding to the USA after Europe, Getir is preparing for a second purchase abroad. Getir will further strengthen its position in the country by signing binding contracts to acquire the UK’s fast delivery app Weezy.

Getir continues to grow abroad with new investments and acquisitions.

Getir, which recently entered the American continent from Chicago, is buying British fast delivery application Weezy. Thus, Getir will have signed the second acquisition abroad. Getir bought BLOK, an express delivery service operating in Southern Europe, in July.

Getir, which started its first overseas expansion in London at the beginning of the year and has been operating in 9 countries on 3 continents with its latest launch in the USA, will further expand its operations in the UK by incorporating around 700 employees of Weezy.

Getir, which operates in a total of 15 cities including London, Liverpool, Birmingham and Manchester, will continue to grow and strengthen its position as the pioneer of the fast delivery industry in the UK, which it founded with the acquisition of Weezy.

In addition to Turkey, the ordering application Getir is currently available in the UK, Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal and the USA. Getir’s next stops are New York and Boston, which started its service in the United States from Chicago in the past few weeks.

Noting that they achieved many successes abroad in less than a year, Getir Founder Nazim Salur said, “A few weeks ago, we started to serve in the USA, the center of technological initiatives. We continue our growth abroad without slowing down.

We believe that our way of doing business and cultural approach are very compatible with Weezy, which has managed to gain an important place in its region despite being a young startup. For this reason, we are adding Weezy, believing that it will make a great contribution to Getir. We are happy to make another exciting acquisition that will further strengthen our service network in the UK, one of the most important markets for us.”
