A ceremony was held due to the start of the harvest of “Yalova Aronia”, which has antioxidant properties and is known as “super fruit” and it is geographical indication registered.
Organic Aronia, Aronia-containing products and beverages were served to the guests at the ceremony in the garden of farmer Murat Deger in Senkoy, a district of Cinarcik.
Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Suat Parildar, in his speech in the program, said that they were happy to start the first harvest period after registration.
Stating that they have to turn to production methods with high added value and consumed in terms of health, Parildar said, “Aronia also gave us a message in this direction. It is a production that gets better returns in small areas.”
Noting that they expect the harvest to increase to 25 tons this year, which was 7-8 tons last year, Parildar said, “With 160 decares of new gardens, the area where Aronia is produced will exceed 300 decares. We aim to produce organic Aronia in the entire 300 decare area with the works to be done. Our kiwi is the 24 carat gold of Yalova, but we are adding a new 24-carat gold Yalova Aronia to this gold today and in the future.”
After the speeches, certificates were given to organic Aronia producers.
The protocol members then cut the cake made using organic Aronia with the farmers and participated in the harvest.
Yalova Governor Muammer Erol, AK Party Istanbul Deputies Mustafa Atas and Osman Boyraz, Eskisehir Deputy Harun Karacan, Balikesir Deputy Yavuz Subasi, Yalova Deputy Ahmet Buyukgumus, AK Party Provincial President Muglim Bagatar, mayors, institution managers and farmers attended the ceremony.
