Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), announced that up to ₺10 thousand can be made at once for workplace payments to be made using TR QR Code, whose integration into the Instant and Continuous Transfer of Funds (FAST) system has been completed, and that the FAST transaction amount limit, which was ₺2 thousand for money transfers, will be increased to ₺5 thousand as of February 21.
3.5 MILLION PAYMENTS PER DAY
In the statement, it was stated that an average of 3.5 million payments were made daily through the FAST system, which allows instant money transfers 7 days and 24 hours, and the transfers were completed in less than a second between customer accounts. It has been reported that the number of users registered in the Easy Addressing System, which allows easy and fast FAST payments to be made with a phone number, identity number or e-mail address instead of IBAN, has reached 15.5 million. It was stated that the efforts to use the FAST system as a complementary alternative payment method to the cash payment method in shopping transactions are being carried out by the CBRT and the Interbank Card Center.
