Istanbul Airport is implementing the innovations it offers with the concept of “Child and Family Friendly Airport” to make the travel experiences of families with children enjoyable, with “Now is the Time for Children”.
According to the statement made by IGA, Istanbul Airport, which stands out with the travel experience it offers to passengers of different age groups, has completed all its efforts to offer new services to children and their families as it does to all its guests.
Aiming to make travel experiences of families with children easier and more enjoyable, IGA has created various solutions for these families to travel more comfortably and enjoyably at Istanbul Airport. These solutions were brought together under the concept of “Child and Family Friendly Airport”.
While the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, gifted by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk to all the children of the world, is celebrated as a digital festival this year under pandemic conditions, the concept of “Child and Family Friendly Airport” is also introduced to the public with the launch of “Now is the Time for Children”.
The Child and Family Friendly Airport concept is inspired by children’s interest in many things and asking questions while exploring. IGA enables children to experience this pleasure in the best way possible, to enable them to explore, and to bring this out in the light of their favorite activity, namely play.
Acting with this insight, IGA has brought to life the nature-concept game park in order for children to have fun, discover the green and create a connection with nature, the sea concept game park where different creatures are told so that they can discover the sea, remember the time they meet the sea and see fish for the first time.
A glacier concept game park consisting only of snow and ice for them to discover the miracle of water, the sky concept game park for them to excitedly say “Pilot!” when asked “What do you want to be in the future?” and for them to fly, explore the sky, the space concept game park in order to take a pleasant journey on the planets, discover the planets and get to know space science closely were founded.
The size of the playgrounds, which feature 5 different game concepts designed for children to have a pleasant time at the airport, covers an area of 700 square meters.
As part of the “Child and Family Friendly Airport” concept, when families with children come to Istanbul Airport, they encounter the character of CIGA in the areas designed for them.
Families with children can park their cars in the areas allocated specifically for them in the airport car park. At the airport terminal entrance, children and their families can pass through special doors designed specifically for them in the form of a space shuttle. Children and their families are farewelled to the door of their planes with the train designed in the shape of an airplane.
Festival enthusiasm will be given to child passengers on April 23
At Istanbul Airport, the free buggy use of children in the 0-2 age group and special welcoming assistance for the 0-6 age group are among the summary services.
The “IGA Pass” membership program, which takes the travel experience to a higher level, also offers services for families with children. Children can play games and watch cartoons in the IGA Lounge while parents are waiting for the flight.
Families can follow their children in the playroom from the screens in the food and beverage area. The comfort of families with children is at the forefront in the IGA Lounge, where every detail is considered, such as a children’s toilet, baby care room and breastfeeding room.
The movie prepared by IGA for April 23rd was also screened within the scope of Now is the time for Children activities.
