The Central Securities Depository (MKK) announced that the total value of securities, which was 13.98 trillion liras at the end of January 2024, increased to 15.85 trillion liras at the end of March 2024.
MKK announced the developments of the first quarter of 2024 through a video titled “2024 Panorama of Capital Markets as of the End of the First Quarter,” shared on its social media accounts.
According to the announcement, the total value of securities, which was 13.98 trillion liras at the end of January 2024, increased to 15.85 trillion liras at the end of March 2024. During the same period, the total number of investors increased from 34.2 million to 34.8 million.
The number of balanced investors within the total number of investors reached 11,351,544. The number of new investors receiving MKK registration numbers in the first quarter of the year was 665,155, with the highest number of new investors, 227,617, being male individuals aged 21-40. The number of new female investors in the same age group was 165,199.
During the same period, the total number of accounts increased from 77.8 million to 80.3 million, and the number of balanced accounts also increased to 15.7 million. In this period, 8 companies were listed, raising a total of 14.7 billion liras from the IPOs. The total number of investor participations in IPOs was 23,382,697.
The portfolio value of investment funds reached 2.53 trillion liras At the end of the first quarter, the portfolio value in equities reached 12.52 trillion liras. The number of investors also increased to 8,255,125. During this period, the portfolio value of investment funds reached 2.53 trillion liras, with the number of investors reaching 4,678,051.
The portfolio value of Government Domestic Debt Securities for a total of 16,839 individual and corporate investors reached 439 billion liras.
The number of investors in the crowdfunding system reached 37,757. During the same period, the nominal value of debt securities issued by a total of 245 companies reached 160,415,892,794 liras. Of these companies, 65 were from the real sector, and 180 were from other issuing companies.
