In Borsa Istanbul, BIST 100 index gained 1.85% and completed the day at 1,575.67 points, closing the highest of all time.
While the BIST 100 index increased by 28.64 points compared to the previous close, the total transaction volume stood at ₺25.8 billion. The banking index gained 2.01% and the holding index gained 2.03%. Among the sector indices, transportation was the highest earner with 7.60%, and the only one that declined was metal and main industry with 0.44%.
BIST 100 index, which followed a positive course throughout the day, closed the highest of all time with 1,575.67 points. Analysts said yesterday that although the US Federal Reserve (Fed) did not change interest rates in line with expectations and reduced the pace of asset purchases by $15 billion, the decision text and the statements of Fed Chairman Jerome Powell kept the risk appetite in the markets high.
Analysts stated that the continuing decline in unemployment benefits applications in the USA shows that economic activity is gaining momentum and this supports the optimistic mood in the markets and the data agenda will be followed tomorrow, especially the Treasury cash balance in the country and the employment report to be announced in the USA abroad. Analysts noted that technically, 1.582 levels in the BIST 100 index are in the position of resistance and 1.500 points in the support position.
