93 thousand 514 houses were sold in Turkiye in November

The number of house sales across Turkiye decreased by 20.6% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 93 thousand 514.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced housing sales statistics for November.

Accordingly, house sales across Turkiye decreased by 20.6% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 93 thousand 514.

Istanbul had the highest share in housing sales with 15 thousand 187 house sales and 16.2%. According to sales numbers, Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 8,250 house sales and a share of 8.8%, and Izmir with 5,105 house sales and a 5.5% share.

The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Hakkari with 52 houses, Ardahan with 57 houses and Gumushane with 73 houses.

Housing sales decreased by 14.9% in the January-November period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1 million 87 thousand 349.

Mortgage house sales

Mortgaged house sales across Turkiye decreased by 68.5% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 5 thousand 245. The share of mortgage sales in total housing sales was 5.6%. Mortgaged house sales in the January-November period decreased by 33.6% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 171 thousand 706.

1,390 of the mortgaged sales in November and 51,624 of the mortgaged sales in the January-November period were first-hand sales.

Number of first-hand house sales

The number of first-hand house sales across Turkiye decreased by 18.5% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 30 thousand 472. The share of first-hand house sales in total house sales was 32.6%. First-hand house sales amounted to 328 thousand 299 in the January-November period, with a decrease of 14.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Second hand house sales

Second-hand house sales across Turkiye decreased by 21.6% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 63 thousand 42. The share of second-hand house sales in total house sales was 67.4%. Second-hand house sales amounted to 759 thousand 50 in the January-November period, with a decrease of 15.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.

2 thousand 342 houses were sold to foreigners

Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 61.5% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 2 thousand 342. The share of housing sales to foreigners in total housing sales in November was 2.5%. Antalya took the first place in housing sales to foreigners with 790 house sales. Antalya was followed by Istanbul with 710 house sales and Mersin with 316 house sales.

In November, citizens of the Russian Federation bought 637 houses from Turkiye. Citizens of the Russian Federation were followed by citizens of Iran with 234 houses, Ukraine with 128 houses and Kazakhstan citizens with 117 houses, respectively.
