Ready-to-wear and fashion industry getting ready for Fashionist 2021

The textile and ready-to-wear industry, which closed the pandemic year with $9.7 billion in exports, is getting ready for Fashionist 2021. The 8th Fashionist Istanbul Fashion Fair, which will be organized in cooperation with TG Expo International Fairs and Osmanbey Textile Business People Association (OTIAD), will open its doors on 23-25 November 2021 at the Istanbul Expo Center.

More than 10 thousand visitors in total are expected in the fair, and 5 thousand foreign business people and buyers from 90 countries will be hosted.

According to the statement made by TG Expo International Fairs and Osmanbey Textile Business People Association, the textile and ready-to-wear sector, which closed the epidemic year with the export of $9.7 billion, is preparing for Fashionist 2021.

The 8th Fashionist Istanbul Fashion Fair, which will be organized in cooperation with TG Expo International Fairs and Osmanbey Textile Business People Association (OTIAD), will open its doors on 23-25 November 2021 at Istanbul Expo Center.

The fair, which will host fashion shows to be organized with world-famous curators, will be a concrete indicator of the distance Istanbul has traveled in becoming the fashion center of the world. 5 thousand foreign business people and buyers from 90 countries will be hosted at the fair, where more than 10 thousand visitors are expected.

2021 EXPORT TARGET IS $11 BILLION

Eda Arpaci, President of Osmanbey Textile Business People Association (OTIAD), whose views are included in the statement, stated that the fair will make a significant contribution to the total exports of the sector, “Turkey, which is the 6th largest supplier country in the world and the second-largest supplier country in Europe, draws attention with its exports to the USA, CIS countries, Balkans, Russia, Africa, Middle East, and Gulf countries as well as to European countries such as Germany and Denmark, Italy, England, France, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands.

Osmanbey firms located in Sisli and Kagithane regions export nearly 90% of their production, realizing 5% of Turkish ready-to-wear exports and 7% of Istanbul ready-to-wear exports.”

Stating that OTIAD is in an effort to support its members in the way of value-added production and branding by organizing many events and activities, Arpaci emphasized that the export target for 2021 is $11 billion and added saying:

“Fashionist brings together the leading brands of Osmanbey, which has a wide range of products from evening dresses to bridal gowns and groom suits, from the most stylish clothes to the latest designs, from women’s, men’s and children’s ready-to-wear to accessories, in Istanbul, the center of fashion and trade, in 2021. It will also determine the future of trends with new ideas and styles. The Fashionist Fair, the largest platform of Turkey’s fashion industry, will provide maximum support for the industry to reach its export targets.

Fashionist, which hosts thousands of professionals from all over the world and exhibits the newest designs of more than 150 companies, will present its latest products to fashion lovers with unique designs and special fashion shows while providing a commercial and cultural show as well as a fashion festival. We set out 3 years ago at the Istanbul Expo Center with the motto “Fashion is Returning to Istanbul” to make Istanbul the capital of the fashion world. Now we have only one slogan and it is: “Fashion is Istanbul.””
