A $20 billion gathering in the aviation industry

The 6th ICDDA, which will be hosted by the OSTIM Defense and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA), will start tomorrow and last for 3 days, and will take place at ATO Congresium.

The Defense and Aerospace Industry Cooperation Days (ICDDA), aiming to help main industry and SME companies operating in military and civil, defense, aviation, and space fields find new markets, seize business opportunities, and establish partnerships, will host participants from approximately 40 countries this year.

During the event, participants will attend various conferences and seminars and conduct one-on-one business meetings at the company level. Thousands of registered appointments have been made for B2B (business-to-business) meetings between main industry companies and SMEs.

At the opening of the event, speeches will be given by İbrahim Yarsan, Chairman of the OSSA Board of Directors, Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the OSTIM Organized Industrial Zone Board of Directors, Gürsel Baran, Chairman of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO), and Seyit Ardıç, Chairman of the Ankara Chamber of Industry.

The session titled “The Place of SMEs in the International Aviation and Space Sector” will bring together SMEs operating in the aviation and space industry with national and international key players. Representatives from Airbus International Cooperation, Boeing Turkey, Leonardo Turkey, THY Deputy General Manager Levent Konukcu, TÜRKSAT Deputy General Manager Selman Demirel, and leading companies in the national and international sectors will provide assessments regarding the perspectives of these companies on SMEs.

Aiming to increase the domestic share ICDDA stands out as the most comprehensive aviation industry meeting held after THY’s agreement with Airbus for 355 new-generation aircraft.

While it is expected that approximately $70 billion worth of aircraft orders will create a business volume of $20 billion for Turkish companies, OSSA, with its nearly 300 members and rich OSTIM ecosystem, aims to further increase this share.

Airbus has 17 suppliers of various sizes in Turkey, producing various products from fuselage parts to fuel tanks, wings to rivets, and electrical cable installations.

During the event, OSSA and its members will hold meetings with THY and Airbus delegations at various levels.

From defense capabilities to global technological opportunities In the session titled “The Impact of Supply Chain Management on Exports for Sustainability,” senior executives from ASELSAN, HAVELSAN, ROKETSAN, TEI, and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) will discuss the place and expectations of SMEs in their supply chains.

The session titled “Strategic Boundaries: Transforming Defense Capabilities into Global Technological Opportunities” will address collaboration opportunities with presentations from representatives of international institutions and organizations.

As part of the ICDDA, TUSAŞ will also hold a series of seminars focusing on the aviation industry. Additionally, a technical tour will be organized for TUSAŞ.
