Foreign sales of $7.15 billion from Mediterranean exporters in the first half of 2023

Onur Kilicer, Coordinator Chairman of Mediterranean Exporters’ Associations (AKIB), stated that their union realized foreign sales of $7.15 billion in the January-June period.

Kilicer, in his written statement, stated that AKIB exported $1.2 billion in June.

Providing information on the January-June exports of their unions, Kilicer said, “Mediterranean Exporters’ Associations reached a foreign sales amount of $7.15 billion in the first half of the year.”

Kilicer stated that they achieved the most exports in 6 months from the chemical, iron-steel, cereals and pulses sectors, and said:

“As AKIB, Iraq ranked first with $637 million in the list of countries to which we exported the most in January-June. This country was followed by Russia with $514.5 million and Germany with $390.6 million. In the first half of the year, the markets of Saudi Arabia, Greece and Russia came to the fore in the countries where we achieved the strongest increases in export volume. During this period, we exported $119.3 million to Saudi Arabia with an increase of 92%, $114.6 million to Greece with an increase of 74%, and $514.5 million to Russia with an increase of 36%.”
