Turkiye: The chemical sector has the highest share in the manufacturing industry investments of the public

The sector to which the public has allocated the highest amount of appropriation for manufacturing industry investments this year was the chemical sector with ₺1 billion 705 million, while the food sector took the second place.

According to the compilation of the AA correspondent from the Investment Program for the Year 2023, the appropriation allocated for the manufacturing industry investments covering 8 sectors increased by 55.1% compared to the previous year and reached ₺4 billion 227 million 692 thousand. The sector with the highest allocation was “chemistry”. The appropriation of the chemical sector increased by 113.7% compared to the previous year and reached ₺1 billion 705 million.

The highest resource allocation within the chemical industry was made to the General Directorate of Eti Maden Operations with ₺1 billion 610 million.

In terms of appropriation size, while the food sector followed the chemical industry with ₺761 million 750 thousand, the highest appropriation within this scope was allocated to Turkiye Seker Fabrikalari Inc. with ₺336 million 250 thousand.

The amount of appropriation allocated for the railway vehicle industry, which ranks third, was ₺654 million.

The highest appropriation increase rate is in the textile and clothing sector.

In terms of appropriation increase rates, the weaving and clothing sector took the first place. The appropriation allocated for this sector increased by 437.1% compared to 2022. This sector was followed by the electrical machinery field with an increase of 425.3%.

There was a 64.4% decrease in the appropriation allocated for SME and entrepreneurship sector investments.
