The access block applied to Uber in Turkey was officially lifted today.
The court of appeal had found the first instance court’s decision to block Uber’s access to Turkey incorrect. With the decision taken, Uber will be able to continue to operate throughout Turkey with its taxi product.
The unfair competition decision was taken from the lawsuit filed by the United Taxi Drivers Association and the Istanbul Chamber of Automobile Tradesmen against Uber to determine the unfair competition.
The Istanbul 10th Commercial Court of First Instance ruled that Uber services constitute unfair competition, and access to uber.com was ruled out.
