HES code will be mandatory in public transportation in Istanbul

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) announced that following the mandatory use of the Hayat Eve Sigar (HES) code, the practice of matching Istanbulcards and HES codes was initiated. According to the statement made by the IMM, following the circular of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, requiring HES code control in public transportation vehicles, the matching of Istanbul cards and HES Codes was initiated.

Istanbul cards that do not match the HES code in public transportation will be considered invalid in accordance with the circular issued within the scope of combating the new type of coronavirus (Covid -19) as of January 15, 2021. Passengers at risk of coronavirus will not be able to benefit from public transport in the city.

According to the circular, the information of people who are diagnosed or have contact and who are found to be using public transportation vehicles while they should be in isolation will be shared with the relevant authorities. Public transportation use of patients diagnosed with coronavirus, carriers or those in contact with these people will be temporarily prevented.

With the HES application of the Ministry of Health or the HES code received via SMS, the matching process can be done by entering personal information into the required fields on the https://kisisellestirme.istanbulkart.istanbul site.
