BIST 100 index gains nearly 12 points from previous close
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,054.59 points on Thursday, up 11.90, or 0.58%, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index rose 1.56% to close at 2,042.70 points on Wednesday,with a daily trading volume of 38.56 billion Turkish liras ($2.6 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 14.7444 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), from 14.6400 at Wednesday’s close.
The euro/lira exchange rate also rose to 16.2962 from 16.1680, while a British pound traded for 19.4331 Turkish liras, down from 19.3400 at the last close.
Brent crude oil traded for around $112.23 per barrel at 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
