BIST 100 index gains 9 points from previous close
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,528.24 points on Wednesday, rising 9 points, or 0.36%, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 0.36% for an all-time high closing of 2,519.24 points on Tuesday, with a daily trading volume of 54 billion liras ($3.7 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 14.6620 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), from 14.6710 at Tuesday’s close.
The euro/lira exchange rate rose to 15.8466 versus 15.8250,while a British pound traded for 19.0823 liras, down from 19.1030 at the last close.
Brent crude oil was sold for around $108.5 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time, while the ounce price of gold was at $1,944.9.
