Turkiye: Ship and yacht exports increased by 26% in the first 5 months of the year

Ship and yacht exports increased by 26.3% in the first 5 months of this year compared to the same period of 2021 and reached $577 million 86 thousand. Norway was the country to which the sector made the most exports in this period.

According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkiye’s exports increased by 20.4% in the first 5 months of this year compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to $102 billion 504 million.

In the said period, $577 million 86 thousand worth of ships and yachts were exported to 125 countries. The share of exports in Turkiye’s total exports was 0.6%.

Leader is Istanbul

While ships and yachts were exported from 26 cities of Turkiye in the first five months of the year, Istanbul realized $297 million 400 thousand of the total foreign sales. This figure corresponded to 52% of the sector’s total exports.

The cities that exported the most ships and yachts after Istanbul were Yalova with $204 million 955 thousand, Izmir with $30 million 329 thousand, Bursa with $21 million 26 thousand and Ankara with $9 million 972 thousand.

Most exports to Norway

Norway was the country to which the sector made the most exports in this period. In the first quarter of the year, $215 million 362 thousand were exported to Norway.

Norway was followed by Pakistan with $37 million 331 thousand, Marshall Islands with $29 million 114 thousand, Kuwait with $27 million 119 thousand and Ireland with $24 million 704 thousand.
