Turkiye: Minimum Wage Determination Commission will meet tomorrow

Millions of workers and employers have their eyes on the minimum wage regulation. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave instructions, the works will be completed within this week. The Minimum Wage Determination Commission is meeting tomorrow.

There will be an additional increase in the minimum wage. The employer will also be supported in order to prevent the loss of employment.

All eyes are on the Minimum Wage Determination Commission. The meeting will be held tomorrow.

The commission, which will be attended by 5 representatives from workers, employers and the government, will meet at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security at 14.00.

An arrangement will be made to protect both the minimum wage and the employer.

Turkish Employers’ Unions (TISK) will also take place at the table to be set up for the minimum wage increase.

The number of employees of the enterprises will be taken into account when increasing the minimum wage. Employment will not be adversely affected. The steps to be taken are expected to be clarified after the meeting.

The current minimum wage is ₺4 thousand 253

The minimum wage, which was applied as gross ₺3,577 and net ₺2 thousand 825 in 2021, was determined to be gross ₺5 thousand 4, net 4 thousand 253 for 2022, with an increase of 50%.

The total cost of the minimum wage to the employer is ₺5,879 and 70 kurus for a worker. ₺5 thousand 4 of this is the gross minimum wage, ₺775 62 kurus for social security premium, ₺100 8 kurus for employer unemployment insurance fund.
