The exports of the carpet manufacturers in the Southeastern Anatolia Region in the first 6 months of the year amounted to $919 million 584 thousand.

Explaining that, as in all sectors, global problems are encountered in the carpet industry and efforts are being made to solve them, Kaplan said:

“After the negotiations between the two countries for Saudi Arabia, which is one of the biggest markets of the carpet industry, the shipment of our carpet industry has started again, just like other industries. This market is of great importance for our industry. We believe that we will regain our old bright days in the Saudi Arabian markets in the coming periods, and we plan to increase our effectiveness in this market with our innovative products.”

Kaplan stated that 67.8% of Turkey’s carpet exports in the first half of the year were met from the region.

Stating that he sent carpets to 148 countries in the first 6 months of the year, Kaplan said, “Our carpet makers exported $919 million 584 thousand of carpet in the first half of the year. When we evaluate on the basis of country groups, our highest exports were made to the USA with $336 million 669 thousand, to the Middle East with $176 million 78 thousand and to European countries with $154 million 215 thousand.”
