Turkish stock exchange flat at mid-week open

Benchmark index gains 5.3 points at opening session

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 6,370.27 points, up slightly by 0.08%, or 5.27 points, from Tuesday’s close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at 6,365.00 points, falling 3.57%,with a daily trading volume of 139.5 billion liras ($5.2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.9305 as of 10.30 a.m. local time (0730GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 30.2490, and a British pound traded for 34.8960 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $79.58 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,979.19.
