Producer Price Index (PPI) in the Euro Zone rose by 27.1% on an annual basis in November due to the increase in energy prices.
The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) published November PPI data for the European Union (EU) and Eurozone.
Accordingly, the PPI in the EU decreased by 0.9% in November compared to the previous month and increased by 27.4% compared to November of 2021.
In the Euro Zone, on the other hand, PPI decreased by 0.9% on a monthly basis in November and increased by 27.1% on an annual basis. Market expectations were for the PPI to increase by 27.5% annually.
In the said period, producer prices in the Euro Zone increased by 55.7% on an annual basis in the energy sector.
Among EU countries, PPI increased the most in Hungary with 63.5%, Latvia with 51.2% and Romania with 44.8%, in November.
Annual PPI was determined as 29% in Germany, 35.7% in Italy, 20.7% in Spain and 21.5% in France.
