Turkiye: Retail sales volume increased by 21.8% year-on-year in December

Retail volume at constant prices increased by 21.8% year-on-year in December 2022.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the retail sales indices for the period of December 2022.

Accordingly, retail sales volume at constant prices increased by 4.8% in December compared to the previous month. In this period, food, beverage and tobacco sales increased by 1.9%, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) by 5.5%, and automotive fuel sales by 6.9%.

Retail sales volume at constant prices increased by 21.8% in December compared to the same month of the previous year. In the same month, sales of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 12.9%, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) by 28%, and automotive fuel sales by 15.7%.

Retail turnover

Retail turnover at current prices increased by 112.4% in December compared to the same month of the previous year. In December, food, beverage and tobacco sales increased by 109%, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 116.6%, and automotive fuel sales increased by 103.7%.

Retail turnover rose 3.3% in December compared to the previous month. In the same month, food, beverage and tobacco sales increased by 2.5%, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 5.8%, while automotive fuel sales decreased by 3%.
