The Central Bank Monetary Policy Committee will announce the first interest rate decision of the new year on Thursday. The bank increased the policy rate to 42.5% in the previous meeting.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee will meet on Thursday, January 25, under the chairmanship of Central Bank Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan.
The interest rate decision will be announced at 14:00 on the same day. At the MPC meeting held last month, the policy rate was increased by 250 basis points to 42.5%.
Policy rate year-end expectation is 38.75%
Economists participating in the MPC expectations survey estimate that the one-week repo auction interest rate (policy rate) will be increased by 250 basis points to 45%.
The median of economists’ year-end policy rate expectations was 38.75%.
