Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati met with US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. At the meeting, the topics of increase in energy and commodity prices, energy and food supply security were on the table.

Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati met with US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen as part of the “G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting” held in Indonesia.

Minister Nebati shared on his Twitter account about his meeting with Yellen.

Providing information about the meeting, Nebati said, “We underlined the need to continue with determination to realize the potential in our commercial relations and to further increase our mutual investments.”

On the other hand, according to the information received from the ministry, views were exchanged at the meeting on the challenges faced by the global economy, such as the increase in energy and commodity prices, energy supply security and food security.

At the meeting, where it was evaluated that the issue of food safety should be handled carefully, Turkiye’s efforts in this regard were appreciated.

While it was shared that the recent high-level contacts between the two allied countries gave a new impetus to the relations and that this momentum should be maintained in mutual understanding, in this context, more cooperation was emphasized against terrorism and the financing of terrorism.
