A cooperation agreement was signed between Turkish Airlines and Vietnam Airlines

THY Deputy General Manager Levent Konukcu gave a speech at the Farnborough Air Show, which started in England on July 18. Pointing out to strengthen and enrich bilateral relations and to offer more alternatives to THY guests, Konukcu stated that a memorandum of understanding was signed between Vietnam and Turkiye.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between Turkish Airlines (THY) and Vietnam Airlines to strengthen cooperation.

In the statement made by the THY Press Office, it was stated that THY and Vietnam Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen bilateral relations at the Farnborough Air Show, which started on July 18 in England.

In addition to creating appropriate links between countries, this will also accelerate the economic, cultural and social relations between Vietnam, Turkiye, Europe and the Middle East regions.

“According to the signed statement, Turkish Airlines and Vietnam Airlines will expand their existing cooperation in passenger and cargo transportation by working on a codeshare partnership on flights between Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City and Istanbul. In this way, guests will have the option to discover new destinations on the networks of both airlines. In addition, the codeshare partnership, which is expected to come into effect in 2023, is expected to pave the way for more cooperation opportunities in the field of cargo transportation.”

Levent Konukcu, Deputy General Manager of THY, whose views are included in the statement, said that they became aware of the importance of cooperation between airlines while recovering from the effects of the crisis brought by the pandemic to the aviation industry.

Expressing that they attach great importance to the expanding cooperation with Vietnam Airlines in both cargo and passenger areas, Konukcu said, “Our common goal and expectation is to enrich relations in many areas and to offer more alternatives to our guests. With this in mind, Turkish Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding that will serve to deepen the relations between the two countries.”

Le Hong Ha, General Manager of Vietnam Airlines, stated that they are very pleased to continue and expand their cooperation with Turkish Airlines and said, “The cooperation between the two flag carriers will bring great benefits to our passengers. It will strengthen aviation connections, economic and cultural relations in Vietnam, Turkiye, Europe and the Middle East.”
