THY Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Ahmet Bolat said, “We have increased the number of aircraft in our fleet 6 times and our brand has the potential to reach 200 aircraft.”

Turkish Airlines’ (THY) sub-brand AnadoluJet’s 60th aircraft, which is included in its fleet, will start flights after the necessary technical controls.

According to the statement made by the THY Press Office, a ceremony was held at Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport due to the inclusion of the 60th aircraft in the fleet.

THY Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, THY Board Member Orhan Birdal, THY Deputy General Manager (Commercial) Kerem Sarp, and senior executives and employees attended the ceremony.

Bolat stated at the ceremony that THY’s planning and strategic moves have made Turkiye one of the global aviation centers.

Bolat stated that they have assumed the leading role in the growth of their sector with the airport investments made all over Anatolia, in line with the goal of “making the airline the way of the people”, which President Recep Tayyip Erdogan set before them.

“We have also strongly connected our people to the airline. We are adding new aircraft to our fleet, which has contributed to our success all over the world. We have increased the number of aircraft in our fleet by 6 times and our brand has the potential to reach 200 aircraft. Next year, 45% of our AnadoluJet fleet will consist of these new generation aircraft, which we launched today. We know well that this means new destinations, new achievements. The plans we made in the past period bore fruit strongly. We carried more than 14 million passengers with AnadoluJet in the 11 months of 2022 and we aim to end the year with more than 15 million passengers.”

The new Airbus 321 Neo type TC-LUA registered aircraft included in the fleet will be included in the flights after the necessary technical controls.

240 passengers will be able to travel with the new-generation aircraft

As of June 2020, AnadoluJet started to work on renewing and enlarging its fleet with the opening of international lines. While expanding its fleet, the company aimed to reduce carbon and noise emissions with new generation aircraft with high fuel efficiency, based on the slogan of “thinking about people and the environment while growing”.

AnadoluJet’s fleet, which consists of 14 new generation Boeing Max and Airbus Neos out of 60 aircraft, is planned to reach 77 aircraft next year in line with its growth targets, and 45% of these aircraft will consist of new generation aircraft.

The brand, which carries out its operations with aircraft with a capacity of 176 to 211 passengers, will be able to carry 240 passengers on new aircraft.
