The rotor automatically disconnects from the winding barrel when the spring is fully wound. The goal is to prevent overwinding and ensure optimal performance. When the power reserve reaches 40 hours (the total reserve is around 55 hours), the rotor reengages, allowing the watch to start another winding phase. This innovation enhances not just precision but also longevity.
The rotor is complemented by several other notable features. The watch has an intuitive function selector, which operates similarly to a car’s gearbox. With a push-button located at 2 o’clock, users can select winding, date setting, and hand setting functions with convenience. A hand at 3 o’clock displays the selected function.
