Deposits of the banking sector increased to ₺12 trillion 779 billion

The total deposits of the banking sector increased by ₺211.4 billion in the week ending July 21 to ₺12 trillion 779 billion.

Weekly money and bank statistics were published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT).

Accordingly, total deposits in the banking sector (including between banks) increased by ₺211 billion 434 million 248 thousand in the week ending July 21 to ₺12 trillion 779 billion 23 million 767 thousand.

In the same period, TL deposits in banks increased by 1.2% to ₺6 trillion 964 billion 578 million 954 thousand, and foreign currency (FX) deposits increased by 2.6% to ₺5 trillion 226 billion 265 million 630 thousand.

While the total FX deposits in banks were $205 billion 768 million last week, $170.8 billion of this amount was collected in the accounts of residents.

Looking at the change in the total FX deposits of domestic residents, an increase of $150 million was observed as of July 21, in parity-adjusted data.

The amount of installment commercial loans increased

Consumer loans in deposit banks decreased by 0.2% last week to ₺1 trillion 323 billion 717 million 115 thousand. In the same period, commercial loans with installments increased by 0.6% to ₺1 trillion 87 billion 421 million 762 thousand, and the balance of credit cards increased by 0.2% to ₺1 trillion 113 billion 508 million 392 thousand.

Of the consumer loans in deposit banks, ₺399 billion 845 million 816 thousand consisted of housing, ₺65 billion 227 million 694 thousand vehicle and ₺858 billion 643 million 605 thousand other loans.

The total loan volume of the banking sector, including the CBRT, increased by ₺107 billion 941 million 360 thousand in the week ending July 21 and reached ₺9 trillion 806 billion 962 million 649 thousand. Total loan volume increased by 59.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
