Turkiye’s LPG production increased by 8.53%

Last year, total Liquefied Petroleum Gas production in Turkiye increased by 8.53% compared to 2021 and reached 1.1 million tons.

According to the “2022 LPG Market Sector Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), LPG imports made by refiners, distributors and processing license holders in 2022 increased by 3.26% compared to the previous year and reached 3 million 205 thousand 122 tons.

Among the 16 different countries and regions where LPG was imported last year, the most imports were from Algeria, USA, Russia, Kazakhstan and Norway, respectively.

LPG exports increased by 88.76% compared to the previous year and reached 409 thousand 898 tons. Lebanon, Tunisia, Switzerland, Greece and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus were the top 5 exporting countries among 16 different countries and regions during the said period.

Refinery license holders’ total LPG production in 2022 increased by 8.53% compared to 2021, reaching 1 million 100 thousand 359 tons.

LPG sales decreased by 1.04%

Distributor license holders sold a total of 3 million 873 thousand 293 tons of LPG last year, of which 611 thousand 518 tons of tubed LPG, 163 thousand 736 tons of bulk LPG, 3 million 98 thousand 39 tons of autogas.

Compared to 2021, autogas sales decreased by 0.62%, bottled LPG sales decreased by 12.55% last year, while bulk LPG sales increased by 68.16%. Thus, total LPG sales decreased by 1.04%.

Last year, cylinder LPG had a market share of 15.8%, bulk LPG 4.23% and autogas 80%. Last year, 47,733 tons of standardized LPG were sold by distributor license holders.
