“Exporting chili pepper to 104 countries is very important”

Sanliurfa Commodity Exchange Assembly President Isa Kizildemir told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the increasing export of chili peppers in 2022 is pleasing for Sanliurfa, the homeland of isot.

Stating that the importance of food has come to the fore all over the world with global warming and the Covid-19 epidemic, Kizildemir stated that it is of great importance for all farmers to continue production by protecting their lands.

Pointing out that the increase in export figures in chili peppers is pleasing, Kizildemir said:

“The first name that comes to mind when isot is mentioned in our country is Sanliurfa. The export of chili pepper increased throughout 2022 and was completed at the end of the year with an increase compared to the previous year. Many export companies send the chili pepper produced in Sanliurfa and the Southeast to abroad. It is very important that chili peppers are exported to 104 countries. Pepper cultivation areas have decreased in our city this year, as in other agricultural products, we believe that our export figures will rise even higher in 2023 if our farmers planting peppers are supported. In this way, the local farmers will make a significant contribution to the country’s economy.”
