Turkiye’s Bozankaya Reveals First Autonomous Metro Train for Gebze-Darica Line

Turkish company Bozankaya has unveiled its first autonomous metro train, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.

The acceptance ceremony for the first four-car train took place at the manufacturing site in Ankara.

It is reported that the train has successfully passed all factory tests.

This rolling stock is intended for a metro line connecting the cities of Gebze and Darica, with its launch planned for September 2024.

Each train can accommodate 1,476 passengers and will operate at speeds of up to 80 km/h.

Turkish Minister of Transport, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, stated that Bozankaya will produce an additional 6 trains by the end of the year under this contract.

The localization rate is at 63%.

In particular, it is reported that the train is equipped with Turkish components,CBTC train control systems, air conditioning, and other amenities.

Bozankaya gained experience in creating metro cars under a 2016 contract for the supply of 22 trains to Thailand.

The rolling stock was developed in collaboration with Siemens Mobility, and its production takes place in Turkiye.
