4 cousins, who have been producing Turkish delight for 3 generations in their factories in Kayseri, exported approximately $300 thousand to 32 countries in the first quarter of the year. A business that has been serving in the city for 75 years exports Turkish delight to countries including the USA, Kenya, China and Australia. Yavuz Carsibasi, one of the partners of the factory, said, “We receive a message and a return from the country where we send each of our Turkish delight. They say ‘You sent Turkish delight from Kayseri, we are very happy.'”

Yavuz Carsibasi, Business Development Director, one of the partners of Carsibasi Milk Products and Confectionery Industry Limited Company, told AA correspondent that they continued their profession, which their grandfather started with single boiler manufacturing in 1946, with the “corporate family business” approach as the third generation.

THERE ARE MORE THAN 200 TYPES OF TURKISH DELIGHT

Emphasizing that they sent Turkish delight, which is a Turkish dessert from the Ottoman Empire, to Kayseri and surrounding provinces, then to Turkey, and now to all over the world, Carsibasi said, “Our Turkish delight variety is over 200. These are 3 main groups as fruit, snack and special delights. In addition, we have recently produced our gluten-free delights upon the request of our gluten-sensitive customers and put them on the market. We developed our gluten-free product group not only for Turkish delight, but with 19 different types of delight, and we started to sell it both domestically and abroad.”

Carsibasi explained that 48 people work in the company and that they aim to provide employment to more people and continued his words as follows:

“We are proud. We receive a message and feedback from the country we send each of our delights. They say, “You sent Turkish delight from Kayseri, we are very happy.” In this way, we receive different emotional congratulations. Foreigners who buy our products for the first time also make good determinations about our quality. We made our first export to America. We have separate sales to many states in America. I can say that we exist in Australia, China, Russia, Azerbaijan, lastly Kenya, all continents.”

Carsibasi said that they exported $300 thousand to 32 countries in the first three months of the year and that they aim to increase this figure to $2 million at the end of the year.
