TURKBESD: Total sales of the white goods industry decreased by 4% in 2023

According to the data of the Turkish White Goods Manufacturers Association (TURKBESD), total sales of the white goods industry will decrease by 4% in 2023, reaching 33 million units.

The total sales of the white goods industry, consisting of exports and domestic markets, in 2023 decreased by 4%, reaching approximately 33 million units.

According to the data of the Turkish White Goods Manufacturers Association (TURKBESD), domestic sales of white goods in six main products increased by 4% in 2023, reaching 9.54 million units.

White goods exports decreased by 10% to 23.2 million units.

According to Reuters, TURKBESD President Gokhan Sigin stated that domestic sales balanced the decline in exports and said that the domestic market created a leverage effect, thus the production and employment structure could be maintained.

“DOMESTIC SALES BALANCED THE DECLINE IN EXPORTS”

Sigin said, “The contraction in foreign markets, which continued throughout the year, was the most important reason for the decrease in our exports. The decrease in exports has been largely balanced by domestic sales so far. We know that domestic sales are extremely important with the prediction that global risks will not change in 2024. Maintaining our production and employment levels will again be possible with the power received from the domestic market.”
