Turkish armored vehicles and boats stepped up in exports

Armored land vehicle and fast patrol boat manufacturers of the Turkish defense industry became one of “Turkiye’s fastest-growing companies in exports” with their export performance.

Turkey continues its activities in this field with the aim of being among the top 10 countries in the world in the field of defense and aviation.

The Turkish defense industry, which increased its exports by 41% compared to the previous year to $3 billion 212 million last year, aims to reach an export income of over $4 billion for 2022.

The increasing performance of the defense and aerospace industry in exports is also reflected in the activities of the companies in this field.

The performance of Turkish defense industry companies drew attention in the “Turkey’s Top 1000 Exporters Research” conducted by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM).

Nurol Makina, the manufacturer of vehicles such as Ejder Yalcin, Yoruk 4×4 and Ejder TOMA, ranked 5th in the evaluation of the fastest rising companies in the ranking.

Nurol Makina, which exports $22.5 million in 2020, increased this amount to $54.3 million with an increase of 141% last year. Almost all of the said exports were realized within the scope of defense and aerospace industry activities.

With this development, Nurol Makina, which was in the 954th rank in 2020, rose 472 steps to the 482nd rank.

The speed of the boats is also high in exports

Yonca-Onuk Shipyard, which meets the needs of friendly and allied countries, especially Turkey, with its high-speed patrol boats, ranked 18th.

Yonca-Onuk Shipyard, which exported $22 million in 2020, increased this amount by 93.5% last year to $42.5 million.

While Yonca-Onuk Shipyard ranked 975th in 2020, it rose 343 steps to 632th place last year.

UAV, engine, armored, and ammunition exports came to the fore

According to TIM data, the export leader of the defense and aerospace industry in 2021 was Baykar, an unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturer with $638.9 million.

Baykar was followed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS), which produces aircraft structures and aircraft with $345.5 million.

TUSAS Motor Industry Inc., which produces aviation engines and engine parts, achieved exports of $205.6 million, and RAM Foreign Trade Inc., which sells tactical wheeled and tracked armored vehicles, signed an export of $160.5 million. Alp Aviation, which produces subsystems and structures for aircraft, achieved an export of $113.9 million, and missile and ammunition manufacturer ROKETSAN signed an export of $111.5 million.
