Hydropower ranks first in electricity generation in Turkiye

Yesterday, 711 thousand 794 megawatt-hours of electricity was produced on a daily basis in Turkiye. Hydroelectric power plants with dams took the first place in production with 18.7%.

According to Turkiye Electricity Transmission Inc. data, the highest electricity consumption on an hourly basis was at 21.00 with 34 thousand 755 megawatt-hours, and the lowest consumption was at 07.00 with 24 thousand 938 megawatt-hours.

On a daily basis, 711 thousand 794 megawatt-hours of electricity was produced yesterday, and consumption was recorded as 725 thousand 580 megawatt-hours.

Hydroelectric power plants with dams took the first place in production with 18.7%. This was followed by imported coal with 16.3% and fluvial power plants with 14.3%.

Turkiye made 1839 megawatt hours of electricity exports and 15,625 megawatts of electricity imports yesterday.
