Turkiye’s exports to Germany are at record level

Turkiye’s exports to Germany reached the highest January-September figure of all time with $14 billion 258 million. Germany was followed by the USA with $10 billion 891 million, the United Kingdom with $9 billion 270 million, Italy with $8 billion 404 million and Iraq with $7.5 billion.

Every month, Turkiye adds a new record to its exports to its main markets.

Record demand for Turkish products continues to come from Germany, Turkiye’s leading export market.

According to the information compiled from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkiye’s exports to Germany reached the highest January-September figure of all time with $14 billion 258 million. Thus, Germany continued to be the market to which Turkiye exports the most.

Turkiye’s exports to Germany increased by 10.6% in the 9 months of the year compared to the same period of 2021. Germany’s share in Turkiye’s exports was 10.2%.

Germany was followed by the USA with $10 billion 891 million, the United Kingdom with $9 billion 270 million, Italy with $8 billion 404 million and Iraq with $7.5 billion.

In this period, Turkiye’s exports increased by 18.7% to the USA, 11.5% to Italy and 22% to Iraq, while it decreased by 0.5% to the United Kingdom.

Automotive industry was the most demanded sector

In the 9 months of the year, the automotive industry made the most exports to Germany with $3 billion 231 million.

The automotive industry was followed by ready-made clothing and apparel with $2 billion 797 million, ferrous and non-ferrous metals with $1 billion 592 million, chemicals and products with $1 billion 22 million, and electricity and electronics with $996 million 302 thousand.

Ship yachts and services with $4 million 913 thousand, other industrial products with $6 million 443 thousand, tobacco with $9 million 526 thousand, ornamental plants and products with $10 million 523 thousand, olive and olive oil with $30 million 71 thousand were the least exported to the country.

The highest increase in exports was in the ferrous and non-ferrous metals sector.

Ferrous and non-ferrous metals sector made the highest increase in exports to Germany on a value basis with $471 million 496 thousand.

This sector was followed by ready-made clothing and apparel with $304 million 316 thousand, automotive industry with $158 million 850 thousand, steel industry with $134 million 552 thousand, chemicals and products with $121 million 332 thousand.

In the 9 months of the year, the steel industry exported $696 million 98 thousand to Germany.

Exports of the fresh fruit and vegetable sector to the country decreased by $42 million 268 thousand to $195 million 531 thousand, and the export of the hazelnut and products sector decreased by $37 million 321 thousand to $305 million 310 thousand.
