Turkiye became the fastest growing economy in OECD and G20

Turkiye became the fastest growing economy among the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and G20 countries, whose data were announced in the 3rd quarter of the year.

According to the compilation of data from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Turkish Statistical Institute, Turkiye carried its economic growth to the 13th quarter with the performance it displayed in the July-September period.

When Turkiye’s growth rate of 5.93% was compared with other countries, it was seen that it ranked first among the European Union (EU), OECD and G20 countries.

Turkiye was followed by Costa Rica with a growth rate of 5.9% in the OECD. This country was followed by Israel with 3.4%, Mexico with 3.2% and the USA with 2.9%. The average growth of the economies of OECD countries was calculated as 1.7%.

The country whose economy shrank the most in the OECD was Norway, with 1.5 Turkiye. The second country whose economy contracted the most was Sweden, with 1.3 Turkiye.

Also at the top of G20

Turkiye ranked first among the G20 countries whose third quarter growth data was announced. While Turkiye was followed by Indonesia and China with 4.9%, these countries were followed by Mexico with 3.2%.

The average growth in the EU during the said period was 0.1%. When we look at the growth rates of EU countries, it is seen that Romania ranks first with 2.1%, followed by Portugal with 1.9%. The Turkish economy exhibited a faster and stronger growth performance than the EU countries.
