Minister of Commerce Bolat will visit Egypt with a delegation of business people

Minister of Commerce Omer Bolat will pay an official visit to Cairo, the capital of Egypt, with his business people delegation on 27-28 October.

According to the statement made by the ministry, Bolat’s visit will be made upon the invitation of Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir Saleh.

A trade delegation consisting of the country’s leading business people will also participate in the trip organized by the Ministry in order to further develop commercial and economic relations between Turkiye and Egypt. The visit program, which included 113 business people, including 10 heads of non-governmental organizations, aims to advance the commercial and economic relations between Turkiye and Egypt’s business world.

Minister Bolat will meet with Turkish and Egyptian business circles at a round table meeting and will have a bilateral meeting with Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Saleh.

During the meeting, a road map will be drawn to increase the Turkiye-Egypt trade volume, which is around $10 billion, to $15 billion within 5 years. The developments recorded in the Technical Consultation Meeting and Free Trade Agreement 5th Joint Committee Meeting held between Turkiye and Egypt on 24-25 October will also be discussed.

The use of local currencies in bilateral trade will also be discussed.

During the meetings on October 27-28, issues such as the start of Turkiye-Egypt Free Trade Agreement expansion and revision negotiations, the use of local currencies in bilateral trade, the establishment of the Ro-Ro line between the two countries and the work permit and market access problems faced by business circles in Egypt will also be evaluated.

Bolat will attend the opening of the International Manufacturing Congress and Fair, which will be held for the second time this year in Cairo under the auspices of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and visit the fair area where Turkish companies will hold meetings with their Egyptian counterparts.
