TPAO’s oil operating license in Diyarbakir has been extended

The oil exploitation license period requested by Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) for a field within the borders of Diyarbakir has been extended by two years.

The decision of the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs (MAPEG) of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources regarding oil rights was published in today’s issue of the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, the validity period of the oil exploitation license of the 15 thousand 252 hectare field in Diyarbakir was extended for 2 years as of May 11, in order to determine the hydrocarbon potential of the region and bring it into the country’s economy.

In addition, the decision regarding the MAPEG expropriation of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources was published in today’s issue of the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, MAPEG, evaluating TPAO’s application, decided to expropriate the necessary parcels for the location areas of Isik-1 well opened in the region of 4 fields in Bismil district of Diyarbakir.
