Turkiye: Eastern Black Sea’s aquaculture export revenue increased by 27%

The income from aquaculture exports from the Eastern Black Sea in January-November 2023 increased by 27% compared to the same period last year, reaching $163 million 209 thousand 894.

Ahmet Hamdi Gurdogan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association, said that 28 thousand 287 tons of aquatic products were sold from the region to 28 countries in 11 months.

Stating that he earned $163 million 209 thousand 894 of income from this export, Gurdogan stated that exports increased by 48% in quantity and 27% in income compared to the 11 months of 2022, when $128 million 708 thousand 342 were earned, equivalent to 19 thousand 134 tons.

Gurdogan stated that the highest export was made to the Russian Federation with $112 million 553 thousand 224, and shared the information that this country was followed by Vietnam with $30 million 381 thousand 678 and Belarus with $5 million 399 thousand 703.

Pointing out that Trabzon accounts for $109 million 902 thousand 895 of the region’s exports, Gurdogan said that 19 thousand 10 tons of aquatic products were sold from the city to 19 countries, especially the Russian Federation, in 11 months of the year.

Gurdogan added that he believes that aquatic products exports will increase exponentially in the coming days.
