Turkiye deepens commercial relations with UAE

Said Sani ez-Zahiri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Ankara, stated that the bilateral trade volume between Turkiye and the UAE will be more than $19 billion this year, “The number of trade agreements between the two countries has increased to approximately 40”.

Said Sani al-Zahiri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Ankara, said in his statement that the trade volume between Turkiye and the United Arab Emirates was $19 billion last year, this year the bilateral trade volume will be more than $19 billion and this figure will increase even more in 5 years.

Stating that there will be stronger trade relations as Muslim countries, Zahiri reminded that comprehensive trade agreements were signed between the two countries in March.

Zahiri. Stating that the number of trade agreements has increased from 21 to 40, he said, “As the number of these agreements increases, the trade between the two countries will increase and the doors will be opened to businessmen. Investments in the two countries will automatically increase. This will create more job opportunities in Turkiye and the United Arab Emirates. Turkiye and the UAE have a strong relationship.”

He concluded his speech as follows:

“Following the visit of UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Turkiye in November 2021, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited the UAE in February 2022. Finally, the visits of Al Nahyan in June 2023 and Erdoğan in July 2023 are indicators of the mutual relations between the two countries for 4 times in the last 2 years. Organizing such visits shows how strong our relations are.

By signing the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the trade volume between the UAE and Turkiye will increase and the targeted levels will be reached. At the same time, we are achieving our goals in the field of business. We will have cooperation in the field of climate. COP28 will be held in November under the auspices of the UAE.”
