Country sees hen egg production of 19.3B units last year
Turkiye’s chicken meat production rose to 2.2 million tons in 2021, according to the country’s statistical authority on Monday.
The figure posted a 5.1% year-on-year increase last year, TurkStat said in a statement.
The country saw 51,301 tons of turkey meat production in 2021, falling 11.9% from the previous year.
The number of slaughtered chickens also climbed 3.6% to 1.2 billion during the same period.
Last year’s poultry production data also revealed that hen egg production fell by 2.5%, totaling at 19.3 billion units over the same period.
