Chicken meat production increased in July in Turkiye

Chicken meat production across Turkiye increased by 3.3% in July compared to the same month last year, reaching 194 thousand 912 tons.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced poultry production statistics for July.

Accordingly, 194 thousand 912 tons of chicken meat was produced in July. Production increased by 3.3% on an annual basis and 10.8% on a monthly basis.

Chicken egg production increased by 6.2% on a monthly basis in July and by 7.4% compared to the same month last year. During this period, 1 billion 682 million 907 thousand chicken eggs were produced.

The number of chickens slaughtered in July increased by 1.1% on an annual basis and was recorded as 105 million 386 thousand.

Turkey meat production decreased by 11.4% in the same period, reaching 4 thousand 7 tons.

In the January-July period, compared to the same period of the previous year, chicken egg production increased by 4.2%, chicken meat production decreased by 4.3%, the number of slaughtered chickens decreased by 7.5% and turkey meat production decreased by 8.7%.
