The price per kilogram of hazelnuts in the free market in Ordu is currently trading at 110 Turkish Liras, according to a statement from the Turkey Union of Chambers of Agriculture (TZOB) Board Member Arslan Soydan.
Arslan Soydan informed the AA correspondent that the hazelnut prices, starting the season at 65 Turkish Liras, have been gradually increasing. He mentioned that the price of hazelnuts resumed its upward trend in the first week of January.
“Hazelnut prices continue to rise. The price per kilogram of hazelnuts, which traded at 105 Turkish Liras in the past weeks in the free market, has now increased to 110 Turkish Liras,” Soydan said.
He added that the prices might continue to increase, suggesting those with hazelnuts in storage to bring to the market as much product as they need.
