BIST 100 index gains over 23 points from previous close
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,567.20 points on Thursday, up 0.91%, or 23.09 points, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index rose 0.28% to 2,544.12 points at Wednesday’s close, with a daily trading volume of 27.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.5 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 17.9151 as of 9.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT) from 17.9030 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate went up to 18.2822 from 18.1010, while a British pound traded for 21.7978 Turkish liras,up from 21.5830 at the previous close.
Brent crude oil was up 1.58% to $103.25 per barrel.
