Turkey spot market electricity & gas prices for the 3rd week of August

Spot market electricity prices for Wednesday, August 19

The highest electricity rate for one megawatt-hour in the day-ahead spot market for Wednesday will be 338 Turkish liras at 16.00 local time and the lowest will be 289.99 liras at 04.00, 05.00 and 06.00 local times, according to official figures on Tuesday.


Turkey’s Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) data for the trade volume on the electricity market on Tuesday showed an increase of 6.8% to 180.53 million liras compared to Monday.

The arithmetical and weighted average price of electricity on the day-ahead spot market is calculated as 308.35 liras and 309.555 liras,respectively.

The highest electricity price for one megawatt-hour on the day-ahead spot market on Tuesday was set as 311.46 liras at 20.00 local time and the lowest at 224.34 liras at 06.00 local time.

US$1 equals 7.39 Turkish liras at 1119 GMT on Tuesday.

Spot market natural gas prices for Monday, August 17

The trade volume of Turkey’s spot natural gas market decreased by 4.3% to 5.92 million Turkish liras on Monday, Turkey’s Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) data showed on Tuesday.

Total trade on Sunday amounted to 6.19 million liras.


On Monday’s spot market, 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas cost 1,310 liras, while the total natural gas trade volume amounted to 4.52 million cubic meters.

Turkey received 117.05 million cubic meters of pipeline gas on Monday.

US$1 equals 7.39 Turkish liras at 1106 GMT on Tuesday.
