Offshore wind plants will offer employment opportunity to nearly 900 thousand people globally

Global Offshore Wind Report, prepared by Global Wind Energy Counsel (GWEC), presents a broad global view of wind energy industry and according to the second edition of the report, offshore wind plants have a life utility of 25 years; the plants need 17 different and full time business lines in order to produce 1 megawatt energy.

Offshore wind plant with 51 gigawatts of capacity is planned to be realized within 5 years and floating offshore wind plant with 6.2 gigawatts of capacity is planned to be integrated with that circuit within 10 years. It is predicted that offshore wind farms’ inclusion in electric systems of countries will offer employment opportunity to nearly 900 thousand people globally by 2024.

Offshore wind plants’ finance, production, transportation, construction, iron and steel, management and care will create employment in the related sectors. Jobs like technicians, engineers, scientists, electricity wiring, wind turbine technicians and pipefitters will also have their fair share of employment.

Offshore wind market analysts predict that the employment rate will maintain itself in Europe yet, increase in Asia and North America depending on new projects regarding offshore wind power.

Clean energy is against global warming

100 gigawatts of annual additional capacity to wind power by 2030 is necessary in order to maintain the global warming level at 1.5-2 centigrade degrees.

Offshore wind plant with 1 gigawats of capacity blocks 3.5 million tons of carbon dioxide emission; the foundation of territorial and offshore wind, solar, hydroelectric and natural gas power plants instead of fossil fuel usage are necessary in order to prevent harmful emissions.

Offshore wind plants reached the 10 percent of global wind power and it is expected that this share will increase more than 20 percent by 2025.
